REBUILD
This store was recently acquired by the M22 brand. Built in 1890, it has been a historical landmark of M22 for nearly a century. Anyone who has ever driven the M22 route has passed the doorstep. It is our goal to revitalize this store to what it once was, “The Company Store." We hope to provide the community of Glen Arbor with an aesthetic enhancement, create jobs, and develop a new destination for travelers. Of course, historic preservation does not come easy and we will need your help. We are looking for anyone with the skills to help the M22 crew bring this store back to life. We could use help in every aspect of the project from mowing the front lawn to replacing the roof and anywhere in between. If you have a niche that you feel would help us in this effort please do not hesitate to contact us. This is a donation-based project, elbow grease and financial donations are both happily accepted. Those who contribute will be mentioned on a plaque that will be mounted near the store entrance. Thank you for being the next person to pass this historic M22 landmark. We look forward to hearing from you!

5/19/09- Broneah Kiteboarding head coaches Kegan Gill and Nate Davis were happy to spend the day painting the interior of the lower level.
A great shot of the "work bench" supporting the basic tools for putting this house back together!
November 2008- The first step in this process was getting local legends Dennis and Nate to patch up the existing roof to protect it from the 2009 winter season.

4/24/09- Traverse City native Eric Harding quickly sped up stage two in our efforts to bring this place back to life. We have known Eric ever since we were kids and grew up working with him at his multiple self-built businesses including Break n’ Waves boat rental and Mirage Tanning Centers. As soon as Eric heard about the opportunity to bring his tractor out and do some work he was there! Getting the property surrounding the house cleaned up after years of leaves, M22 road debris, and vegetative growth was a large job and without Eric’s help would have been nearly impossible!
We can't wait for the next time Eric comes out to work around the house. His skills are priceless in making this effort happen.

4/30/09- Phil (Philly) from Hurley's Beveling Co Located in Traverse City blessed us with his skilled hands as he carefully replaced every cracked glass in the house. Over the years the wildlife has been welcome to enter, but before this remodel goes any further Phil is sealing up the cracks! Thanks for all of your help getting this done Phil!
5/7/09- Empire locals Gerald Du Rocher and his brother Norm Du Rocher from DuRocher Drywall and Plastering were happy to help get started on fixing the existing drywall and plaster work in the home. These guys do top notch work quickly! We were very happy to find locals from the area to help us put this place back together. People like Gerald and Norm are what makes this project possible for us. Thanks guys! We look forward to working with you for the rest of the job.
5/7/09- Everyone needs a bathroom, and thats whey we started things out by getting the original downstairs bathroom into usable condition. With allot of elbow greese we were able to clean up the original porcelin tub and sink.
